Footy for fun...

WELCOME

For players 35 and over.

Welcome to the official home page of the Victorian Country Masters Australian Football League.

The most important aspect of our game is that it is "football for fun". It is for this reason that there are no ladders, finals or best & fairest awards in Victorian Country.

Egos are to be left at home. Criticism of other player's performance, abilities etc. is not on. We are here to do our best and have fun.

LATEST NEWS AND UPDATES

New Club GLENORDEN Admitted To VIC COUNTRY

The executive is pleased to welcome Glenorden to the Vic Country MAF.  They are entering both a Over 35 and Over 47 team to the competition.  Please ensure they are made welcome and play "football for fun" as per our mission statement.  Their contact is well known to many of us as an ex Werribee player and umpire.  Ago will be the club contact and is available on 0412 807 280 or ago@newcityceramics.com.au.

2012 VIC COUNTRY Draw Released

There have been a few inhibitors to issuing the 2012 draw to date but these have finally been sorted out.  Thanks go to Chris Hart and Diesel for their untiring efforts to get a workable draw together.  Most of you haven't seen the many iterations developed by these two men to come up with the final proposal.  As you can appreciate with a 16 team competition it is difficult to meet the wishes of all clubs.  Consequently this years draw has been compiled to provide the best blend of travel distance and double headers possible on paper.  If any clubs wish to make changes they must now negotiate directly with the clubs involved.  The executive will not participate in that task.

New Executive From Annual General Meeting

After 8 years as president Mick Lewis has stood down, being replaced by Wayne Hall (Cannon) who has big shoes to fill, Mick will remain on the executive guiding Wayne when needed.  Thankyou to Mick (and Jennie) for his hard work and dedication to Vic Country.  We are sure Wayne will be more than capable of performing this task and wish him all the best.
Neville Green has resigned from the Committee and was replaced by Marty Abela, welcome Marty and thankyou to Neville for your years of service to the executive.

The cost per player is somewhere between 2,000 and 2,500 dollars which is accommodation, flights and most meals and we can look at some sponsorship from interested companies to reduce the cost.  It is about building business relationships in China and they are very keen to cement some relationships with Australian companies which can open up some amazing opportunities in China.  So we want players who are keen to foster this goodwill that has already been established by the previous Rugby tour in 2011.

They are playing a 12 per side format and are more interested in supers players which will suit the teams they have over there which are expats and the like.

If we can get a large level of interested players we can take 3 teams over but let me know asap if you would be interested in finding more about the trip and interested in coming over.

People can email me at Bill.Bridge@eb-services.com.au or ring on 0432219888
