MATCH RULES 1. The game shall consist of four twenty minute quarters with no time on added however, time on may be added providing agreement is reached between both captains and a suitable time keeper appointed for the match. Home team to accept responsibility of appointing a suitable time keeper for all matches and to accept responsibility of advising the field umpire that time on is being added. 2. Teams to consist of 18 players with a maximum of 6 interchange players. All matches must be played with the same number of players on both teams. This may mean the lending of players from one team to another or reducing the number of players on a team at any time during the match. The interchange position shall be the position of the coaching box. Players interchanging may do so only when the player being interchanged has left the field. 3. Supergoals, being drop kick from outside a 20 metre arc from the goal mouth, shall be awarded 12 points. (a) Goal umpires to receive the all clear in the normal manner. (b) Goal umpires to signal supergoal by waving a red flag. (c) Field umpire to adjudicate on 20 metre arc from goal. (d) Should a doubt arise then the field umpire shall be the sole adjudicator. (e) Should both umpires be unsighted, then a six point goal shall be signalled. 4. All players to be aged 35 years or over on 31st December of the current year. Special compensation may be granted in the following circumstances: (a) Players under the age of 35 years can participate only after consultation with the opposition Team Manager and Coach and agreement is reached. (b) The player(s) referred to in 4(a) must not be selected in the first 18 players if players aged 35 years and over are on the bench. 4.1 OVER 47'S competition. A new division was introduced in 2007 for players 47 and over. All players to be aged 47 years or over on 31st December of the current year. Special compensation may be granted in the following circumstances: (a) Players under the age of 47 years can participate only after consultation with the opposition Team Manager and Coach and agreement is reached. (b) The player(s) referred to in 4.1(a) must not be selected in the first 18 players if players aged 47 years and over are on the bench. 5. No evidence of age shall be required other than in the event that a complaint is received, the player concerned, under direction of his club, must be prepared to provide proof of age to the Vic Country Executive Committee. 6. Player eligibility. (a) No player shall be eligible to play for a team other than the team with whom he has previously played without obtaining prior approval from the Executive Committee of his original team. (b) Approval to play for a team other than the team for whom a player has previously played must be obtained from the Executive Committee of the club concerned. (c) A player under suspension from any other competition shall not be permitted to play in a Vic Country game whilst under suspension. 7. Umpires - Home teams to be responsible for the appointment of:- (a) At least one, but preferably two qualified field umpires, (b) two suitably qualified and attired boundary umpires .(optional) (c) two suitably qualified and attired goal umpires, all of who are to be competent and fully conversant with the rules relating to Masters Australian Football. (d) Any team can supply one field umpire if the opposite team is notified the Tuesday before the game, and pay any fee due to such Umpire. |
